As happy new year season ends, it’s time to say happy anniversary to Ancient Futures – and thank you for reading and listening! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I launched this site back in 2023, but it’s become a big part of my life as a result of the podcast.
Next week’s episode is going to be the 50th. You can browse through the archive here – all recent interviews are free to stream in full, along with previews of the others. For unlimited access to earlier episodes, you need to subscribe for a small monthly charge (with a discount on annual subscriptions).
As I explained when I introduced the paywall this time last year, I invest a lot of effort in making the podcast. Most interviews involve reading books and I do the production work myself, so the hours soon add up. Since I’m a freelancer who hasn’t had a salary for 15 years, that’s all time I don’t spend getting paid.
I know many others are in similar positions, so I’m committed to keeping things free at the time of release. Plus if there’s an episode you really want to hear, just email me to get it unlocked, no questions asked. But if you can afford to be a paying subscriber, I’d be really grateful if you’d consider it.
Fewer than five percent of those who get this newsletter currently pay. If even just a couple of dozen more people joined them, it would make a big difference. As an incentive to upgrade this week, new annual subscribers will get 10% off any of my online courses on yogic texts at truthofyoga.com. Sign up before January 15, and I’ll send you a discount code.
There are lots of great podcasts coming – including several that look beyond yoga to other traditions. And if there’s anyone you’d like me to interview, please get in touch! Meanwhile, if you’re an author with an interesting book, or someone else with a message to share, please feel free to put yourself forward…
I’m also planning a free Q&A / discussion for paying subscribers – more details on that soon. Let me know if you’d like it to focus on something specific. And if there’s anything else that you’d like to propose, just send me an email.
For now, here are some links to a range of chats from the past 12 months:
