Between Caves and Clickbait
A podcast chat about practical philosophy
My aim as a teacher is to make yogic wisdom accessible and relevant, while also encouraging critical thinking. It was a pleasure to discuss this on the Living Yoga podcast with Gabriel Maldonado, whom I met earlier this year on a retreat in Spain that he co-taught with his wife, Eva Kiviluoma.
Together, we explored what inspires us. Among other topics, we considered:
How to introduce beginners to yoga philosophy
Whether yogic teachings are inherently religious
What it means to renounce and how it might help
Where modern innovations appear to be leading
Why traditional ideas are still worth studying
You can stream the conversation below, or find “Living Yoga” on podcast platforms. This episode is also on YouTube if you’d rather watch us talk. For more about Eva and Gabriel’s teaching, plus their library of online classes, see their website. Both of them trained in Purna Yoga with Aadil Palkhivala and his wife Savitri.
